The Art
Like most of the creative people, Anil Kumar Goswami attempts to unravel the enigma called life in his artistic capacity. His work explores essence and motive of every action. If a bird chirps, he is not content with the movement of her beak. He wonders why every vocal cord produces a different sound; and goes on to question if every individual is essentially dissimilar. His paintings question burning issues we often struggle with, and then attempts to arrive at an answer. Taking a middle path between abstractionism and figurative, his paintings form an epic of sorts expressing intricacies of mind and soul. Experimentation with colors and finding a pattern within the random paint applications delineate Goswami’s works that go on from crosshatching to long free strokes or small to long strokes. The swirls, arches, droplets, sharp edges or random jigsaws – all have a place for symbolic suggestion in his works.
